Ep. 46 -Rebuilding Hope for the Unhoused with Jonathan Kumar
More Than Profit is a podcast from Access Ventures that asks investors, entrepreneurs, leaders and more about life, work, and living with purpose.
Okay…last month I mentioned I wouldn’t push every episode (and I won’t) but this months sit-down with the founder of Samaritan was a fun one. He also is building something really exciting to help the unhoused - a really neat technology we are excited to beta in Louisville later this year. More on that later (and follow Access Ventures’ newsletter for those details) but check out this episode and be sure to watch the Vice News story on their great work in Seattle.
On this episode of More Than Profit, I sat down with Jonathan Kumar. Jonathan is the CEO of Samaritan, a support platform that empowers people without a home to move forward. Samaritan was founded in 2016 and exists to link individuals without a home to the social and financial capital needed to meet housing and health goals.
Jonathan and I discuss the importance of providing autonomy and dignity to individuals experiencing homelessness. We also talked about feeling called to meet needs instead of wants and the connection between access to housing and health outcomes.
